Bondy Insulation designs, supplies, and installs high and low temperature mechanical insulation for piping systems, ductwork, and heavy-duty equipment in commercial, institutional, industrial, and automotive applications, to name a few. We pride ourselves on working directly with mechanical piping contractors, project architects, design engineers, owners, and general contractors to provide the best-insulated systems available. While most projects are installed based on predetermined specifications, Bondy stands ready to evaluate project plans for efficiency, value, the safety of personnel, and to recommend alternative solutions whenever appropriate. Here are some of the materials that we commonly work with.
Fiberglass
Fiberglass insulation is composed of inorganic glass fibers and is the most commonly used insulation material, particularly in commercial applications.
Flexible Elastomeric
Flexible elastomeric is a closed cell, non-porous insulation that is typically used in low temperature HVAC applications.
Mineral Wool
Mineral wool is composed of inorganic fibers derived from basalt, enhanced with glass fibers. A fire resistant material with a higher temperature threshold, mineral wool is commonly found in industrial applications.
PVC
PVC is an impact resistant jacket that offers an aesthetically pleasing finish available in many colors that can be easily wiped clean.
Tank Panel Insulation
Tank panels can be comprised of a variety of insulation materials that are fastened to a metal jacketing that is installed in the field as a single unit. Panels are quickly seamed together for a watertight system. Panels are available in custom lengths, thicknesses, and colors.
Aluminum
Aluminum is the standard for exterior weatherproofing. It is available in preformed or custom configurations and a variety of thicknesses.
Perlite
Perlite is an efficient low density insulator that is suitable for higher temperatures. It is commonly used to combat CUI as it is resistant to oil and water absorption.
Removable Blankets
Removable blankets are a solution for insulated items that must be routinely inspected or maintained. They can be used on anything from valves, to tank heads, to rollup curtains. Removable blankets are completely customizable and available in a wide variety of insulations, facings, and closure systems.
Calcium Silicate
Cal Sil is composed of a crystalline formation that gives the material its high compressive strength and high temperature suitability. It is also commonly used in pipe support applications, and industrial settings.
Aerogels
Aerogel insulation is a synthetic lightweight material with extreme effectiveness as a thermal insulator. It typically can achieve the same results as much thicker materials in both cold and hot applications.
Polyisocyanurate
Polyisocyanurate is a closed-cell, low-density rigid foam insulation that is suited for cold applications. A variety of factory applied jackets are available including zero perm.
Cellular Glass
Rigid cellular glass is a highly durable, non-combustible, and lightweight insulation material that can be used for both low, and high temperature applications in a wide range of settings.
Self-Adhesive
Self-adhesive jacketing is a common alternative to metal lagging in exterior applications. It offers zero permeability and is available in a variety of colors and textures.
Heavy Gauge Lagging
Heavy gauge lagging can be used to provide additional durability to a weatherproof system, or as a heat shield with air barrier. Common material types include:aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel and aluminum, Alclad, and stainless steel. Thicknesses are application dependent.
Fire Wrap
Fire wrap is a specialty insulation that is comprised of ceramic fiber that is encased in an aluminum foil facing. Fire wrap is designed to provide protection for grease ducts, dryer vents, and plastic pipe and cable.
Eslin
Eslin has an E-Glass fiber structure that is suitable for high temperature applications. It is available in standard pipe sizes, and large preformed segments to fit equipment as well. Eslin is best suited for the refining and power generation industries.
Ceramic Fiber
Ceramic fiber is a refractory material composed of aluminum silicate. It is well suited for very high temperatures and comes in a variety of forms including blanket, board, cement, and tape.
Acoustic Sound Lagging
Acoustic sound lagging vinyl comes in a variety of forms and density and is used to help control sound transmission.
